First Dinner

Last night at the Goshert's house we held the first of our Dinners for 8 meetings. We were met at the door by the entire junior cadre of the Goshert family; Jack, Trevor and Grace, and they were suitably accompanied by their canine security team in the form of Max the Dachshund who was so fierce that he was clearly prepared to love any and all to the death with kisses and tail wags.

While the adults engaged in the attitude adjustment period with wine and good conversation, Jack was commissioned to put together the acronym by which our group would be known. With pencil and paper he went to work, and very quickly produced from the first two letters of each last name what later, during a specially called, one item agenda plenipotentiary meeting, became the formal group name. Accordingly, we are now officially the PRUNNOGO's.

Jack was awesome as he conducted and presided over the meeting during desert. It was later alleged that the consumption of the scrumptious goodies was designed to predispose all of the delegates present to vote unanimously for the new acronym, and it has been rumored that there will be a formal investigation by the United Nations Committee on Acronyms, (UNCA).

We all had a wonderful meal, and the conversations that swirled around the table included stories from the "mature" members of several past events and adventures in our lives, some of which were the cause of great hilarity.

As the evening drew to a close we agreed that we would meet again on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the church manse where Wade and Megan would be our hosts.
